FOR BUSINESS
Team chat security and compliance review
Short answer: BusyVault encrypts messages and files in a conversation with Aegis-128L before storage. The hosted service decrypts them to run chat, search, previews and notifications. Public share links are the exception. Enterprise can run on your servers under a separate contract. This page does not claim SOC 2, ISO 27001 or HIPAA.
Review BusyVault access controls and how accounts stay safe. Check data handling, hosting and the contract before a business pilot.
Check controls against your own needs.
A team chat review covers people, data and who does what. Use this list with your IT and security leads, then gather the proof your team needs.
BusyVault runs in the browser and can be installed from Chrome or Edge on Windows, macOS and Linux. The Android app is on Google Play and uses the same account. The iPhone and iPad app is coming soon. Enterprise customers can run BusyVault on their own servers under a separate contract.
BusyVault encrypts messages, voice notes, files sent in conversations, tickets, tasks, checklists, notes and scheduled messages with Aegis-128L before storage. The hosted service decrypts them to run chat, search, previews and notifications. Files opened through a public share link are not protected that way, so someone without an account can open them.
| Area | What to review | Evidence to collect |
|---|---|---|
| Identity and account protection | Check sign-in, two-factor login and how sessions work with the people who run accounts. | Test setup, recovery and removal of a pilot account. Confirm any required SSO/SAML or SCIM link in writing. |
| Workspace and channel access | Use roles and channel rules to split project access and admin duties. | For each role, test one act that works and one that is denied, plus file access and removal. |
| Administrative visibility | Use the workspace audit view when you review admin activity. | Check which acts are saved and what history you can see. Agree how long to keep it, what to export and what to watch. |
| Files, sharing and recovery | Check who can open files, and test backup and restore with a real project file. | After a restore, check the text, the files and who can open them. Keep the old copies until you sign off. |
Data use and GDPR checks.
Read the privacy page first. List the data your team will use. Note who controls the data and who handles it, and the legal basis. Write down who owns each account, who can open it, and how people ask for their data. Your team's duties depend on how it uses the service.
Ask for the processing terms, where data is hosted, the subprocessor list, cross-border terms, how data is deleted and how long backups are kept. Check these against the real setup and the contract before you upload private or sensitive data.
Confirm the contract before you approve.
Check what your buying process needs. It may ask for SSO/SAML, SCIM, self-hosting, a private cloud or a set place for data. It may also ask for a HIPAA business associate deal, SOC 2 or ISO proof. Ask for current proof in writing and the exact scope of each item. This guide is a list. It does not claim these features or proofs exist.
For encryption, BusyVault encrypts messages, voice notes, files sent in conversations, tickets, tasks, checklists, notes and scheduled messages with Aegis-128L before storage. The hosted service decrypts them to run chat, search, previews and notifications. Files opened through a public share link are not protected that way, so someone without an account can open them. In the contract, set the uptime, support reply time and restore goals your project needs.
One project, then the rest
Apply “Team chat security and compliance review” to one workspace you already have. Create the channel, invite the people on that job, and upload one file you would review this week. Leave the rest of the company where it is until a person who missed the day can find the file and the next owner. That pilot is the proof. A diagram of every team is not.
Files, history and the next owner
On Team chat security and compliance review, keep the file next to the sentence that approved it. Slack documents a 1 GB cap on one upload and, on the Free plan, 90 days of visible history. Those two limits are the public facts this site already cites.
BusyVault bills storage per paid account: 25 GiB on Basic and 100 GiB on Pro. Extra storage is 0.03 USD per GiB a month after you confirm the charge. Basic is 9 USD a month or 86 USD a year. Pro is 30 USD a month or 288 USD a year. One subscription does not cover the team.
The trial is 3 days and 10 GiB. Use it to upload a real file and to search for a decision, not to announce a company-wide move. If the file does not fit or the old decision cannot be found, say so in the channel before you promise the room is the archive.
Where the app runs
BusyVault runs in the browser and can be installed from Chrome or Edge on Windows, macOS and Linux. The Android app is on Google Play and uses the same account. The iPhone and iPad app is coming soon. Enterprise customers can run BusyVault on their own servers under a separate contract. There is no public installer on this site for that path. This page does not claim SOC 2, ISO 27001 or HIPAA.
A check you can finish this week
For Team chat security and compliance review, finish four lines and stop. Line one is the project name. Line two is the channel name. Line three is where the current file lives. Line four is the next owner. Add one rule for meetings: what must be decided live, and what must be written down the same day.
Ask someone who was not on the call to find the file without help. If they open the right channel first, the structure works. If they search three threads and still ask which version is current, move the file to the channel and leave a pointer. Owners and administrators can export a BusyVault backup from workspace or channel settings. After a restore, check the text, the file references and who can open them. Keep the original files until that check passes. Product questions go to the address on the support page.
Write the control you can actually test
BusyVault runs in the browser and can be installed from Chrome or Edge on Windows, macOS and Linux. The Android app is on Google Play and uses the same account. The iPhone and iPad app is coming soon. Enterprise customers can run BusyVault on their own servers under a separate contract. For the pilot, test sign-in, who can open the file, and what remains after you remove a person. Ask for hosting, retention and any SSO promise in writing. This page does not award a compliance badge.
