THE BUSYVAULT FIELD GUIDE
Team collaboration guides
Short answer: Team collaboration guides. Put the current file, the decision and the next owner in one channel. Basic is 9 USD per paid account a month, or 86 USD a year, with 25 GiB. The trial is 3 days. The iPhone and iPad app is coming soon. The encryption scope is on the security page.
Explore guides to team chat, large files, message history and collaboration costs. Compare the options before choosing a workspace.

A checklist before you trust a chat encryption claim
Ask what is encrypted, who can search it, and who holds the keys. BusyVault states an Aegis-128L scope. This page does not award a winner.

Self-hosted team chat or a cloud workspace
A server you run is a different job from a hosted app. Mattermost and Rocket.Chat are the self-managed names on this site. Confirm each license.

Threads or channels for a project record
A thread holds one topic. A channel holds the project. The file should live in the place a new person will open first.

Discord risks when the work is a client project
Discord fits a community and voice. A client file, an approval and a private archive are a weak fit for a personal server. Read the limits first.

WhatsApp risks for an internal business team
A WhatsApp group is tied to phones and compresses photos. It is a poor home for the approved file and the next owner of a project.
Read the guide →A better decision starts with a real workflow.
Start with the questions your team runs into each week: where to send a large asset, how to find an old decision and what a paid workspace will cost. These guides separate upload limits from storage, visible history from retention, and account prices from a whole-team budget.
Build your cost estimate →Choose the next step for your team.
If your team exchanges video, design sources or other large deliverables, start with the file size guide. Write down a typical file size, format and intended recipients. Check the limit for a single upload, total storage and recipient access separately. A successful upload alone does not tell you whether the whole project will fit or whether a client can open the file.
If the problem is finding earlier decisions, use the message history guide. List the conversations you need to keep searchable and decide who will handle exports before a move. Then use the BusyVault and Slack comparison to assess the same tasks in both tools: finding a message, following a file discussion and recording the next action.
Before testing a shortlist, enter your paid accounts and billing period in the pricing calculator. Adjust the reference Slack rate to match your quote and include any additional storage. Keep the result next to your workflow checklist. The BusyVault documentation explains channels, permissions and file workflows so you can plan a small, representative trial before changing how the team works.
One project, then the rest
Apply “Team collaboration guides” to one workspace you already have. Create the channel, invite the people on that job, and upload one file you would review this week. Leave the rest of the company where it is until a person who missed the day can find the file and the next owner. That pilot is the proof. A diagram of every team is not.
Files, history and the next owner
On Team collaboration guides, keep the file next to the sentence that approved it. Slack documents a 1 GB cap on one upload and, on the Free plan, 90 days of visible history. Those two limits are the public facts this site already cites.
BusyVault bills storage per paid account: 25 GiB on Basic and 100 GiB on Pro. Extra storage is 0.03 USD per GiB a month after you confirm the charge. Basic is 9 USD a month or 86 USD a year. Pro is 30 USD a month or 288 USD a year. One subscription does not cover the team.
The trial is 3 days and 10 GiB. Use it to upload a real file and to search for a decision, not to announce a company-wide move. If the file does not fit or the old decision cannot be found, say so in the channel before you promise the room is the archive.
Where the app runs
BusyVault runs in the browser and can be installed from Chrome or Edge on Windows, macOS and Linux. The Android app is on Google Play and uses the same account. The iPhone and iPad app is coming soon. Enterprise customers can run BusyVault on their own servers under a separate contract. There is no public installer on this site for that path. This page does not claim SOC 2, ISO 27001 or HIPAA.
A check you can finish this week
For Team collaboration guides, finish four lines and stop. Line one is the project name. Line two is the channel name. Line three is where the current file lives. Line four is the next owner. Add one rule for meetings: what must be decided live, and what must be written down the same day.
Ask someone who was not on the call to find the file without help. If they open the right channel first, the structure works. If they search three threads and still ask which version is current, move the file to the channel and leave a pointer. Owners and administrators can export a BusyVault backup from workspace or channel settings. After a restore, check the text, the file references and who can open them. Keep the original files until that check passes. Product questions go to the address on the support page.
Read the limit before the pitch
These guides separate three numbers people mix up: the size of one upload, the storage included with an account, and how far back search goes. Slack’s own pages are the source for the 1 GB upload cap and Free-plan history. BusyVault’s own page is the source for 9 and 30 USD, 25 and 100 GiB, and a 3-day trial. Read the guide that matches the number you were about to guess.
