COMPARE AND CHECK
Team communication glossary
Short answer: Team communication glossary. Put the current file, the decision and the next owner in one channel. Basic is 9 USD per paid account a month, or 86 USD a year, with 25 GiB. The trial is 3 days. The iPhone and iPad app is coming soon. The encryption scope is on the security page.
Plain definitions of end-to-end encryption, channel sprawl, notification fatigue and async work. Encryption scope is on the security page.
Short answer. This glossary defines four terms used on BusyVault comparison pages: end-to-end encryption, channel sprawl, notification fatigue and asynchronous work. The definitions are plain language. They are not a certification, a rating or a claim that BusyVault implements every term.
Short definitions used on BusyVault comparison pages
| Term | Plain meaning | Do not confuse it with |
|---|---|---|
| End-to-end encryption | Only the people in the conversation can read it. | HTTPS, which protects transport. |
| Channel sprawl | So many rooms that the decision is lost. | A single project channel. |
| Notification fatigue | So many pings that the important one is missed. | A quieter room that still cannot be searched. |
| Asynchronous work | People reply later, from a record. | A meeting that everyone must attend. |
End-to-end encryption
End-to-end encryption means the people in the conversation can read the message, and the operator of the server cannot. BusyVault encrypts messages, voice notes, files sent in conversations, tickets, tasks, checklists, notes and scheduled messages with Aegis-128L before storage. The hosted service decrypts them to run chat, search, previews and notifications. Files opened through a public share link are not protected that way, so someone without an account can open them. The security review page states that scope.
Channel sprawl
Channel sprawl is what happens when every topic, client and mood gets a room, and nobody can find the approved file. A new tool does not fix it. One project needs one home, with a subchannel only when a delivery truly needs its own thread.
Notification fatigue
Notification fatigue is the state where alerts from many rooms train people to ignore all of them. Fewer pings help only if the work is still easy to find when someone opens the project later.
Asynchronous work
Asynchronous work means a reply can wait, because the record holds the file, the decision and the next step. It fails when the only copy of the decision was a live call.
QUESTIONS
Questions about these terms
Is HTTPS end-to-end encryption?
No. HTTPS protects the connection. End-to-end encryption is about who can read the content.
Does BusyVault claim these as certifications?
No. They are dictionary entries. There is no SOC 2, HIPAA or rating attached to them on this page.
Where are the longer term pages?
The definitions live on this page as sections. Separate thin URLs for each term are not published.
One project, then the rest
Apply “Team communication glossary” to one workspace you already have. Create the channel, invite the people on that job, and upload one file you would review this week. Leave the rest of the company where it is until a person who missed the day can find the file and the next owner. That pilot is the proof. A diagram of every team is not.
Files, history and the next owner
On Team communication glossary, keep the file next to the sentence that approved it. Slack documents a 1 GB cap on one upload and, on the Free plan, 90 days of visible history. Those two limits are the public facts this site already cites.
BusyVault bills storage per paid account: 25 GiB on Basic and 100 GiB on Pro. Extra storage is 0.03 USD per GiB a month after you confirm the charge. Basic is 9 USD a month or 86 USD a year. Pro is 30 USD a month or 288 USD a year. One subscription does not cover the team.
The trial is 3 days and 10 GiB. Use it to upload a real file and to search for a decision, not to announce a company-wide move. If the file does not fit or the old decision cannot be found, say so in the channel before you promise the room is the archive.
Where the app runs
BusyVault runs in the browser and can be installed from Chrome or Edge on Windows, macOS and Linux. The Android app is on Google Play and uses the same account. The iPhone and iPad app is coming soon. Enterprise customers can run BusyVault on their own servers under a separate contract. There is no public installer on this site for that path. This page does not claim SOC 2, ISO 27001 or HIPAA.
A check you can finish this week
For Team communication glossary, finish four lines and stop. Line one is the project name. Line two is the channel name. Line three is where the current file lives. Line four is the next owner. Add one rule for meetings: what must be decided live, and what must be written down the same day.
Ask someone who was not on the call to find the file without help. If they open the right channel first, the structure works. If they search three threads and still ask which version is current, move the file to the channel and leave a pointer. Owners and administrators can export a BusyVault backup from workspace or channel settings. After a restore, check the text, the file references and who can open them. Keep the original files until that check passes. Product questions go to the address on the support page.
Use the term only after you can test it
End-to-end encryption means only the people in the conversation can read it. BusyVault's scope is Aegis-128L on the security page. Channel sprawl means so many rooms that the decision is lost. Notification fatigue means the alert hid the one message that mattered. Asynchronous work means the record holds the file and the next step when people are not online together. If a sales page uses one of these words, ask what you can test.
