COMPARE AND CHECK
How we compare team chat apps
Short answer: How we compare team chat apps. Put the current file, the decision and the next owner in one channel. Basic is 9 USD per paid account a month, or 86 USD a year, with 25 GiB. The trial is 3 days. The iPhone and iPad app is coming soon. The encryption scope is on the security page.
How BusyVault compares chat tools: public pages, dated Slack prices, and no star ratings or laboratory scores.
Short answer. We compare public vendor pages and the prices BusyVault publishes. We do not run a lab, we do not award stars, and we do not print a competitor price unless this site already cites a checked figure. Slack Pro at 8.75 USD a month or 7.25 USD on annual billing was checked on 31 Oct 2026. The word tested is not used for a benchmark we did not run.
What this site publishes, and what it refuses to invent
| We publish | We do not publish |
|---|---|
| BusyVault Basic 9/86 USD and Pro 30/288 USD. | A star rating or a review score. |
| 25 GiB and 100 GiB included, extra 0.03 USD per GiB. | A RAM or latency benchmark. |
| A 3-day trial with 10 GiB. | A permanent free BusyVault plan. |
| Slack's 1 GB upload cap and the Pro reference above. | An unchecked competitor price shown as fact. |
| The Aegis-128L scope on the security page. | A laboratory winner or a made-up score. |
Sources
BusyVault prices come from the public pricing page. Slack's Pro reference comes from Slack's pricing page as checked on 31 Oct 2026, and your own quote can differ. Other tools are described from their public homepages. If a cell says to check the vendor, we did not have a number we were willing to print.
Conflict of interest
We make BusyVault and we say so on the roundup. BusyVault can be first in a list of project-chat options because of the file and the account price, and it is absent from the free list and the open-source list. Teams and a suite you already pay for can still be the better choice. That is written on the comparison pages, not hidden.
The price record these pages are allowed to quote
This JSON is the public price record. It is not a secret, not a license key and not a competitor feed. Fields we have not checked are omitted on purpose.

Questions about this method
Did you test 20 apps?
No. This page does not say that. We compare published facts and we name the date for the Slack figure we cite.
Why is there no score?
A score would pretend we measured things we did not measure. The tables are qualitative on purpose.
How often do prices change here?
When the BusyVault pricing page changes, or when we re-check a cited vendor figure. The Slack reference on this page is dated 31 Oct 2026.
Who is the author?
The pages are published by BusyVault as an organization. We do not invent a named reviewer or a personal profile.
One project, then the rest
Apply “How we compare team chat apps” to one workspace you already have. Create the channel, invite the people on that job, and upload one file you would review this week. Leave the rest of the company where it is until a person who missed the day can find the file and the next owner. That pilot is the proof. A diagram of every team is not.
Files, history and the next owner
On How we compare team chat apps, keep the file next to the sentence that approved it. Slack documents a 1 GB cap on one upload and, on the Free plan, 90 days of visible history. Those two limits are the public facts this site already cites.
BusyVault bills storage per paid account: 25 GiB on Basic and 100 GiB on Pro. Extra storage is 0.03 USD per GiB a month after you confirm the charge. Basic is 9 USD a month or 86 USD a year. Pro is 30 USD a month or 288 USD a year. One subscription does not cover the team.
The trial is 3 days and 10 GiB. Use it to upload a real file and to search for a decision, not to announce a company-wide move. If the file does not fit or the old decision cannot be found, say so in the channel before you promise the room is the archive.
Where the app runs
BusyVault runs in the browser and can be installed from Chrome or Edge on Windows, macOS and Linux. The Android app is on Google Play and uses the same account. The iPhone and iPad app is coming soon. Enterprise customers can run BusyVault on their own servers under a separate contract. There is no public installer on this site for that path. This page does not claim SOC 2, ISO 27001 or HIPAA.
A check you can finish this week
For How we compare team chat apps, finish four lines and stop. Line one is the project name. Line two is the channel name. Line three is where the current file lives. Line four is the next owner. Add one rule for meetings: what must be decided live, and what must be written down the same day.
Ask someone who was not on the call to find the file without help. If they open the right channel first, the structure works. If they search three threads and still ask which version is current, move the file to the channel and leave a pointer. Owners and administrators can export a BusyVault backup from workspace or channel settings. After a restore, check the text, the file references and who can open them. Keep the original files until that check passes. Product questions go to the address on the support page.
What was checked on 31 Oct 2026
Slack Pro in the calculator is 8.75 USD per person a month, or 7.25 USD on annual billing, as a reference you can edit to match a quote. BusyVault Basic is 9 USD a month or 86 USD a year, with 25 GiB. Pro is 30 USD a month or 288 USD a year, with 100 GiB. Extra storage is 0.03 USD per GiB a month. No star rating and no lab figure for RAM or latency is published here, because those measurements were not made.
